I recommend everyone interested in health, nutrition, and well-being go to www.foodmatters.tv and watch the entire movie! It is absolutely great!

“Let thy Food be thy Medicine and thy Medicine be thy Food.” — Hippocrates

That’s the message from the founding father of modern medicine echoed in the controversial new documentary film ‘Food Matters’ from first-time Producer-Directors James Colqhuoun and Laurentine ten Bosch.

“With nutritionally-depleted foods, chemical additives and our tendency to rely upon pharmaceutical drugs to treat what’s wrong with our malnourished bodies, it’s no wonder that modern society is getting sicker. ‘Food Matters’ sets about uncovering the trillion dollar worldwide “Sickness Industry” and giving people some scientifically verifiable solutions for curing disease naturally.” – James

And in what promises to be the most contentious idea put forward, the filmmakers have interviewed several world leaders in nutrition and natural healing who claim that not only are we harming our bodies with improper nutrition, but that the right kind of foods, supplements and detoxification can be used to treat chronic illnesses as fatal as terminally diagnosed cancer.

‘Food Matters’ is to be launched globally via the internet using full screen video technology.

The film’s official website and DVD can be found at http://www.foodmatters.tv
————————————–

-Modern Medicine is the 3rd leading cause of death in the US! (behind cancer and heart disease).

-Food travels about 1,500 – 2,000 miles, and is at least a week old, before it reaches your plate.

-Less than 6% of graduating physicians in the USA receive any formal training in nutrition.

-26% of patients who leave the hospital are more malnourished when they leave, than when they came in (and 80-90% of the time someone goes to the hospital in the first place is because of their poor state of nutrition).

-The word “survive” has been redefined by the medical community… a person only needs to live for 5 years after their initial cancer treatment in order to be considered a cancer “survivor” (so if someone survives 5 years after their cancer treatment, and dies 3 months after that – the medical community says that they have survived cancer).

-Modern medicine revolves around ‘a pill for every ill’.

-It is the doctors duty to activate and reactivate the bodies own healing mechanisms.

I’m planning on opening a massage therapy business. Unfortunately, my business will be close to a city where there are plenty of skeezy massage parlors that cater to men who are looking for a "happy ending". Therefore I don’t want the word massage in the name of my store. I’m thinking something with the word "relaxation" or "revitalization" in the title. Thanks for helping!

Natural Rejuvantion Center/Parlour

I recently graduated and became board certified in massage therapy in the state of TX. I want to open a business and I have found a great location at great price. I need to know the step I should take to oepn the business. Where should I go for permits and what type of employee numbers do I need. Thanks for all your help.

First, go to your local downtown and find some scantily clad women with strong hands…..then, tint the the windows to your "massage parlor" so nobody can see what is going on in there. Next, you’ll need a guy named Bruno to guard the door. After that, charge more for happy endings…..

I’ve booked a Indian Head Massage tommorrow at 2.30 and there is a swimming pool near by, in which they have an aqua fit class at 6.30 which i would also like to go to.
Some say you mustnt do any vigourous exercise after a therapy, but it can’t do any harm, can it?

Probably the biggest risk would be dizziness and therefore risk of passing out and drowning!

Massage actually triggers a certain part of the nervous system that tells your body to focus on things like digestion and sleeping and actually slows your heart beat and respiration. I am not sure what Indian Head Massage entails, so maybe ask them what reactions to expect.

4 Hours after should be okay, though. Your body should have enough time to get ready to be active again.

But just be sure you eat something with carbs and protein after the massage to get your system full of energy again, and get lots of fresh air before the aquafit class. Maybe even tell someone near you in the class about your massage IN CASE you have an adverse reaction, then at least someone will be prepared if something happens.

I am a black female moving from the U.S to San Juan, Puerto Rico to persue my career in massage therapy. I need to know the requirements and pay for massage therapist in Puerto Rico. I am also looking for a houses or apartments that are furnished with uilities included. What would be good web sites to research that?

Requirements are none. The issue here – are you licensed or it is a pleasure massage. The massage business in PR is booming but in the wrong way…..prostitution is illegal and men/women have established massage parlors as a front for their prostitution business…so watch out.

To research pay and apartments, I would recommend:

For job and pay – search in your browser Empleos Puerto Rico and search the sites.

For rentals – search WWW.CLASIFICADOSONLINE.COM

What are some of this things you really delve into? What are some of the most crucial and time consuming things to study while in massage school? I haven’t started massage school quiet yet, but i most likely am going to enroll for this autumn. What are the most renowned modalities that are widely practiced in the U.S., the world? Please be very descriptive when telling me your experiences and everything you know about massage therapy . Thanks so much!!!

Depends on where you are studying. All states and provinces have slightly different levels of study in order to become a registered massage therapist. I am in Ontario so I will go through 2300 hours of classes before I can become certified to work.

Term one for me was a lot of basic Anatomy & Physiology. This was the majority of the class time and study time. Learning each bone and muscle in the body, where they attach, what they do, etc. All the systems in the body (nervous, muscular, endocrine, respiratory…), how they function.

Then we also learned the beginnings of client assessment (how to observe posture, gait, pain, etc.) and therapeutic relations (how to be professional and what sorts of issues to expect).

Plus, of course, basic Swedish Massage techniques. We learned all the techniques and how to apply them in a basic full body relaxation massage.

Swedish massage is the most widely practised modality in the Western world. There are of course many techniques from different modalities than can be added to this (thai, hot stone, etc.)

It takes a lot of time to memorise and study all the science material, especially. I am lucky enough to not have to have a job throughout school, as it would be very stressful to spend time working when I should be studying.

Good luck deciding what to do and where to go. It’s a very satisfying experience so far and I look forward to the career!

I have been told by the doctor to get massage 2-3 times a week as part of pain management for osteoarthritis, to relieve joint pain. But, there are differant types of massage, what should I ask for? Also, I have severe osteoporosis and don’t want anything too vigorous. Thanks

If you go to a massage therapist and talk about your concerns they should be able to tell you what kind it is you will need. If you came to see me I would give you a swedish massage, but I’ve also been trained in injury (sports) massage and I would incorporate my knowledge into the swedish so you could feel complete. But injury can be really deep so what you are looking for is a swedish massage. That’s actually the most common. You will really enjoy it if you find a good therapist you can be comfortable with. I’m sure it will help with the pain. Good luck and best wishes!
